Visit a traditional blacksmith workshop in Cerklje, with a rich history dating back to 1887.
The workshop was founded by Matija Likar and later acquired by the Globočnik family, who have preserved the blacksmithing craft for generations.
Today, Janez Globočnik continues the family tradition in the workshop.
History and Heritage
For centuries, blacksmithing has played an important role in the local community. The Globočnik family is known for producing meadow harrows, horseshoes, harness carts, and many other blacksmithing services. After a fire in 1985, the workshop was restored and finally renovated in 1998.
Modern Blacksmithing
Today, the workshop offers a variety of products, including window security grilles, candle holders, plant stands, and souvenirs. They also provide plow repairs and horseshoeing services.
